I thought it was a nice performance, I cant wait for the studio version of his interpretation of the song.
Here's what the judges have to say:

Randy - it was good, he can sell millions of albums singing these type of songs
Kara - it wasn't good because he wasn't taking enough chances
Paula - it was great but there was a bum note( i agree... the first "it's too late..." line was off)
Simon - competent but it was because the other judges didn't do their job
