Kris and Katy..... the love story

Ever wondered how they met, fell in love? do you know about the crazy most romantic proposal that Kris did?

well... here ya go....

KATY O'CONNELL & KRISTOPHER ALLEN
SEPTEMBER 26, 2008

ABOUT KATY

(In Kristopher's words)

Katy is someone that everyone should know. She is that person that is going to make you smile and laugh, but she won't mean to. She cares for everyone deeply and always listens to what you have to say. She loves helping people out and would do anything for anyone. She is also a very determined person. She wants to make something for herself, and others respect that about her. She is smart, beautiful, and great to be around. She loves God and tries to follow after His will. Overall, she is GREAT.

ABOUT KRISTOPHER

(In Katy's words) Kristopher is my favorite person in the world. He is amazing in so many ways, but he would never tell you any of them because he is so humble. He is is a very loyal friend and is there 100% for the people in his life. Kristopher is laid back but still very fun to be around. He has a sense of adventure and really likes to travel and experience new things. He also really likes sports and has taught me a lot about football. : ) I can't forget to mention that he is a phenomenal singer and musician. He has such a great heart for God, and everyone really admires that in him. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him!

HOW WE MET

Well, you could say we met in elementary school when she was a dorky girl with big glasses and I was chubby little kid, but that was not when we really got to know each other. I was in 11th grade and she was in 10th. We were both in orchestra together, and I thought she was cute. We went on an All-Region trip together, and I really knew I liked her then. I could tell she liked me too, and the rest is history.

WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED
November 15, 2007

HOW IT HAPPENED

Kristopher's proposal was absolutely perfect. I figured he might ask me to marry him sometime after Christmas, so I was completely shocked when he did it on a random Thursday. He enlisted the help of my best pal Leeanne and asked her to take me to the square in Fayetteville. I thought that he was in Central Arkansas that night and had no idea that he had driven up that day. Leeanne told me that we were going to the coffee shop in the square to see one of her friends, but she pulled into a parking spot by a bench before we got there. She told me to go look under the bench and that she was leaving me there. At first I was a bit freaked out, but I eventually obeyed her strange request. Under the bench I found a letter with a number one on it. I sat on the bench and read the letter. It said "do you remember when" and talked all about when we first got together. The end of the letter told me to go to the next bench where I found another letter full of memories and instructions to move to yet another bench. This went on until I finally got to the 5th bench. When I opened the 5th letter it said "Do you remember when it was November 15th on a cold night in Fayetteville, AR and I asked you to marry me?" The next thing I knew Kristopher was walking towards the bench with his guitar. He sat down and started singing a song that he had written for me. The song ended with "will you marry me", and then he got down on one knee an asked me in 'non-singing' words. I of course said yes and he gave me the most beautiful ring. We took a few pictures and then drove home in the middle of the night to tell his family. WHEN & WHERE September 26, 2008 North Little Rock/ Maumelle, AR

ABOUT THE BIG DAY

Four months before our wedding date, we stumbled upon a park on the Arkansas River. We were already considering changing our location to better fit our tastes, and we knew that the park would be perfect! So change your calendars to Friday, September 26th! We will be married at sunset in an outdoor ceremony on the bank of the Arkansas River! The reception will immediately follow at the same location. ***Please remember to bring an umbrella in case of rain. We will have large tents for the ceremony and reception and a nearby indoor facility to wait out any severe weather, but we still recommend bringing one to keep you dry when going between tents.

How Sweet it Is by Kris Allen: 1-866-436-5702

Kris Allen sang “How Sweet it Is” by Marvin Gaye - He started kinda slow but then he kicked it up a bit. The performance reminded us of James Taylor though he made sure that the arrangement was original. It's very soulful, upbeat with great vocals. We loved it. I'm sure America will..

On the other hand, the other Idol wannabes sang the following songs:

Matt Giraud - “Let’s Get it On” by - Marvin Gaye
Scott MacIntyre - ”You Can’t Hurry Love” by The Supremes
Megan Joy Corkrey - “For Once in My Life” by Stevie Wonder
Anoop Desai - “Ooh Baby Baby” by - Smokey Robinson and The Miracles
Michael Sarver - “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” by - Temptations
Lil Rounds - “Heatwave” by - Martha and the Vandellas
Adam Lambert - “Tracks of my Tears” by - Smokey Robinson and the Miracles
Danny Gokey - “Get Ready” by - The Temptations
Allison Iraheta - “Papa was a Rolling Stone” by - The Temptations

Here's a youtube linked video of his performance:

Here's what the judges have to say:
Kara : “You did Kris. You did everything right,”
Paula: “Brilliant…I”m proud of you.”
Simon: “That was smart…but you have to start believing in yourself. You have to be conceited,”
Randy: "Just keep it in the stride…It’s all good..”

Vote for Kris Allen now!!

He is not safe unless you vote for him!!

Kris Allen will go 60's.. Motown style

This week's theme for American Idol is Motown (60's music). Here's a little info on what the hell Motown is:

Motown Records is a record label originally based in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Founded by Berry Gordy, Jr. on January 12, 1959 as Tamla Records, the company was incorporated as Motown Record Corporation on April 14, 1960. The name, a portmanteau derived from the words motor and town, is also a nickname for Detroit.

Motown played an important role in the racial integration of popular music, as it was the first record label owned by an African American to primarily feature African-American artists who achieved crossover success. In the 1960s, Motown and its soul-based subsidiaries were the most successful proponents of what came to be known as The Motown Sound, a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence.

Motown has owned or distributed releases from more than 45 subsidiaries in varying genres, although it is most famous for its releases in the music genres of rhythm and blues, soul, hip hop and pop. Motown Records left Detroit for Los Angeles in 1972, and remained an independent company until June 28, 1988, when Gordy sold the company to MCA and Boston Ventures (which took over full ownership of Motown in 1991), then to PolyGram in 1994. Now headquartered in New York City, Motown Records is a subsidiary of The Universal Motown/Universal Republic Group, itself a subsidiary of Universal Music Group.
